You're not still driving everywhere are you? Leave the car home and take the bike instead and you'll escape high gas prices, traffic and parking hassles. Plus, you can go at your own pace, stop whenever and wherever you want, and actually have fun, and even get some exercise while you're getting things done!
Clean That Muddy Bike! - Love muddy rides? Be sure to clean your bike immediately after. Why? Because, once the mud dries, it's more difficult to remove and your frame gets scratched in the process. When you wash it off before it dries, however, it rinses right off. While washing, be sure not to spray water directly at the components that contain bearings (hubs, crankset, pedals, headset) because this can contaminate the bearings causing premature grease breakdown and wear. And, be sure to apply lube to the chain, brakes and derailleurs after rinsing so that the water doesn't cause squeaking and corrosion.
Your tires are inflated, your helmet is strapped on, now where do you ride? Just scroll through a few of our favorites on the left! Or, if you know of a better ride, just add it to Map My Ride's database and we'll all be able to try it. Enjoy!
